Data Handling Practices
We believe that the success of any edtech tool hinges on its ability to provide the best solutions for entire school districts, students,
and teachers, while safeguarding their data. We comply with federal and state regulations that seek to protect our systems and your
information. This is how Quizli’s data is stored and secured:
If you have any questions about our Privacy Policy or AI Usage Notice, please contact us at
support@canelasoftware.com.
On top of adhering to all the above compliance requirements, our AI operates under critical data safety measures to protect the
information of teachers, students, and school districts.
All of your content is kept safe on our servers. When uploading documents or images, our AI provider assigns a one-hour expiration
time, after which they’re automatically deleted from all servers.
None of the data you provide is used for training purposes or to improve models. It’s also confidentially retained for 30 days (unless
legally required to retain the logs for longer) as part of the provider’s abuse logging policy to reduce harmful AI usage.
Lastly, we predetermine all of our AI prompts to define our target audience as K-12 classrooms and provide instructions to ignore all
requests unrelated to school curricula, directing AI to avoid any harmful or inappropriate content.
Quizli complies with the following data and child protection requirements under US law:
-Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
-Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
-Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA)
-California Assembly Bill 1584 (AB 1584)
-California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
Quizli securely stores and manages data in the cloud for both teacher and district use. We protect data using current industry-standard
security practices. The Quizli team only accesses data when requested by users for troubleshooting or when necessary for service
maintenance.
Documents uploaded or scanned for Quizli’s AI feature will be sent to a third-party Large Language Model (LLM) in the cloud.
All data — whether stored locally or in the cloud — remains strictly private. Quizli does not monetize your data in any way, and any data
transfer is performed using industry standards, ensuring the utmost security and privacy. Additionally, your information is never used
for software training purposes.
At Quizli, we do not treat data as a product. Instead, we see it as an enabler that powers and protects your teaching experience.
Data Security Measures
All data in Quizli, whether in your app or on the cloud, is encrypted using AES256, one of the most secure encryption ciphers.
We integrate the HTTPS protocol to protect data transmitted to and from our servers.
